The Plot
Darkness 2 is set 2 years after the events of the first, Reprising your role as Jackie Estacado you find Jackie is still coming to terms with the loss of Jenny who was murdered in the original game at the hands of Jackie's "Uncle" Paulie and Eddie Shrote.
Things are looking up for Jackie and in the 2 years past who has moved into the mansion and is now running things and has managed to stay in control of the darkness which has please Jackie however not everyone is pleased that they've had to work harder. Jackie has become the Don of the Franchetti crime family and has moved into the big mansion and has been happily running things and for the majority things have been going well, he still thinks about Jenny and Aunt Sara is worried that Jackie hasn't managed to put it behind him yet.
Things are not all what they seem tho as Jackie enters a luxurious restaurant where Vinnie appears to be the owner a dark organisation are determined to have the darkness for themselves, and as Jackie sits down at a table with 2 Blonde twins the organisation decide to make there move, shooting one of the girls in the eye, and they drive a car through the window busting up Jackie's right leg.
Vinnie takes the part of Hero here dragging Jackie to safety as he fights them off with a pistol and before either of them are aware The Darkness is back calling to Jackie to embrace the Darkness again.

Changes From The Original
The game is a lot easier to follow than the original, and those who haven't played the original will be happy to know upon starting Darkness 2 before it throws you into the new game you have the option of being told what happened in The Darkness which will get you brought up to speed and is quite frankly a very welcome addition to the game.
Darkness 2 also see's the introduction of a multiplayer aspect called Vendettas which runs along side the main story and gives you a good idea of whats happening in the game. It has a 4 player co-op which works a lot like Left 4 Dead and gives you that kind of feel as you work together to take down people and destroy there hearts. The 4 characters to pick from all have there own unique weapon and kills so has a lot of playability there.
Jackie is seemingly stronger now than he was in the first and the darkness powers have grown with him now allowing you to quad wield pistols and the 2 darkness arms at the same time for excellent combinations. The control system on both the PS3 and the 360 is superb and 2K have done a brilliant job at making it feel like all the buttons are in exactly the right place.
If you enjoy playing the game for the story and don't mind the blood guts and the language that is obvious throughout the game then realistically it can last you up to about 7 hours. it is obviously going to last a lot less if you just sprint through the game but in my honest thoughts are your missing a great story.
Fans of the comic series will notice that the game stays true to the comic in looks and for me it almost looks like your playing a comic book in your mind its how I would expect the comic to look.

The Bad Points
Sadly I have noticed a couple of graphical issues where enemies have walked through boxes and a few animations issues however if i'm honest it didn't cause too many issues and there is already a patch out which I'm sure will have fixed a few of the bugs.
Scores On The Doors
I give the game a 8.5/10
The game is a lot more polished than the original and the strides it has made have been extensive overal the game is enjoyable and the 4 player co-op mode has already provided me with some entertainment. The Darkness has definitely returned and this time it's fighting to pull you and everyone else in with it.
