The Vita shifted an impressive 325,000 units in its first week, followed by 724,479 in its second and then only 42,648 in its third.
In the latest Japanese top 10 hardware sales chart it placed 4th behind the 3DS, PS3 and the PSP!

Japanese retailers have already begun to slash the price in order to entice buyers.
With problems at the launch and an uproar at the rumoured memory card prices (now unsubstantiated), Sony have been quick to address every issue with the Vita as soon as it arose. One thing they can't address however, is if people actually want a Vita or not.
With the release of the Vita imminent in the UK, it will be interesting to actually have a thorough hands on with the console as everything we have seen so far has been impressive. Whether hype alone is enough for UK Gamers to dip their hands into their pockets, is another matter entirely.
