    Ok, club loyalties aside...

    All the recent handshake palava....

Going back to the Bridge-Terry issue (you sha**ed my missus) and along to the more recent Evra/Suarez and Terry/Ferdinand situations.... what would you do?

Each situation is different, obviously... so take it in context (I don't want to open up a whole race issue here!!)

You've been wronged, you feel you're right... Do you acquiesce or show some sort of protest?

Now any attacks on my beloved Liverpool will not be tolerated so keep it neutral peeps!

you expect me to not be biased against united and evra? pah!

i understand why bridge didn't shake hands, he was obviously betrayed. it was wise for qpr and chelsea to not do the handshake parade, so i dunno why the same wasn't done again today.

i suppose it was big of evra to offer his hand (i say suppose as I really don't like him, aggravating little rat) but suarez, feeling hard done by i guess, refused. but with evra being the quiet type afraid of attention, immediately went to the cameras

there was no need for a handshake parade today, if individual players wanted to shake hands at the end they could of, but the sharade carried on and suarez should have done the big thing and shook hands so that we wouldn't still be reading about this crap constantly. le sigh

Think I have to agree Jay...

By making players shake-hands at the start of any game shows a fake sense of sportsmanship in my opinion. If you can shrug off what's happened in the last 90 mins by swapping jerseys, shaking hands... generally being a good sportsman regardless of what's gone on, shows you being a bigger man. By having this parade on show for the media to scrutinise beforehand throws a dark shadow over the game and that becomes the main focus beyond the football. It's a shame.

Far cry from the premiership, but sunday leaguers shake hands after 90 mins of kicking lumps out of each other.... whereas beforehand it would be like shaking hands with your sworn enemy. All rivalrys aside, these parades are a media paradise for controversy. It's not about fair play, it's just a showcase of nothingness.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like either of them however I agree that they should have shook hands, nobody is saying they need to start a bromance with each other just give the impression it is all swept under the carpet.

However Suarez in not shaking his hand caused a bad feeling at the beginning of the match which boiled over into it and after it. If they had shook hands then I don't think there would have been the bad atmosphere that there was.

The problem Liverpool now face is that they had arranged the handshake and publicised it was going to take place....Suarez has caused the issues by not going through with it. I don't think Evra's reaction to it helped however I can kind of understand that he was told it was over and it would be handshake and move on and then all of sudden it's shunned in front of camera's he probably felt embarrassed etc.. still no excusing the pose for the cameras. I can guarantee that both teams will end up with fines from the FA for failing to control their players, and rightly so.

The Bridge - Terry issue is another one although I don't mind wayne bridge and I think Terry is nothing but a low life **** so If I had been Wayne Bridge I'd have smacked the little **** upside the head and then jumped up and down on his bollocks.

I expect better behaviour from my kids than what I saw from supposedly grown men on both teams yesterday...utterly pathetic IMO

Though we all saw what happened, the motivation behind it will likely remain a mystery and open for interpretation. Was Evra being conciliatory or media/camera savvy. Or had United's PR machine had a word? Was Suarez being justifiably agreived at his treatment by the FA on the basis of Evra's complaint or was he just being plain petulant. I have no idea but I can argue all sides just as easily from the evidence.

What isn't open to interpretation is the reaction from the respective managers. Ferguson displayed every ounce of his years of experience and professionalism by being quick to condemn the actions of both players. Both his own man as well as Suarez.

Dagleish, on the other hand, after spouting some nonsensical complaints at Sky Sports and proving beyond doubt he didn't have a clue, defaulted to Liverpool's first last and favourite line of defence. "The media and the world hates us and are all out to get us".

Ok, it's true, but you don't win any points for noticing. And look like a whiner for mentioning it.
