done and dusted ,sorry if ya missed it ,but wanted to get it out there so it could be enjoyed over the weekend .
demo is released for all on 14th Feb across all platforms , i have a copy of the first in the series ,never put in the xbox !
maybe i should put that up for swag or maybe i'll wait til posh paws' swap shop gets up and running .

If the ME3 wasn't a couple of days away, I'd settle for that. But as it is, no need!

Not entirely sure why Mass Effect 3 would interest you if 1 & 2 didnt. You're not going to know what's going on for starters

What's got me interested is playing Deus Ex, which looked similar in some ways to the gameplay videos that I've seen of ME2. And although I followed the Deus Ex story a bit to begin with, now I don't bother and just do the objectives, for the challenge, not to see what happens next.

Pointless, you are missing out on an excellent narative.  Bioware have a history of well scripted games, and going for objectives only defeats the purpose of the game, to see the story through.  By that logic you shouldn't really bother with new releases, and should just replay old stuff.  The combat, and quest sceanrio encouters, etc,  in ME has undoubtly been done better elsewhere.

It seems that the developers are less focussed on the narrative than in previous releases as they now offer the 3 types of gameplay, probably for people like me who don't have a spare 50-60 hours to go back and play 1 and 2. And I don't doubt the the storyline (and background) will be explained as the game progresses. I've only played the first demo level so far and I wasn't at all confused about what was going on. I honestly find it pretty ridiculous that I'm not supposed to play a game because I haven't played the previous "episodes"!
